Diagon Alley Diagon-alley-wizarding-world-expansion

Diagon Alley is a cobblestoned wizarding alley and shopping area located in London, England behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron.

Inside the alley is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights. All items on the Hogwarts supply list can be bought at Diagon Alley. The alley is completely hidden from the Muggle world which is right outside of its boundaries. It is very large in area and essentially the centre of wizarding London.

"Truly?" Michael questioned as he and his family entered The Leaky Cauldron. Michael was ignorant to the muggle world, he and his father had gotten themselves in to a discussion concerning "football" (a muggle sport) that to Michael was a timid affair compared to that of Quidditch, though so were most muggle past-times in his eyes. The Leaky Cauldron was dark and damp its stench caused Michael's nose to twist up in a repulsed fashion presenting youthful wrinkles upon both his cheeks. His fathers hand graced the eleven year old's back ushering him through passing muggle and wizard alike chatting in hearty tones. Michael's younger brother and mother kept up behind them, his brother was smaller than himself and Michael often enjoyed teasing him. Almost polar opposite in nature Michael hoped John would never aspire to Slytherin house the house he had so wished to be a part of since hearing of its existence. The darkness would casually break away as Michael and his father approached a solid, red brick wall, his father drawing a scepter from his overcoat gave the wall a few carefully placed taps and before his eyes Michael witnessed the wall almost fade away, much to his own astonishment and awe: so this was true magic, he thought.

The four of them walked down the crowded cobble streets of London, two boys about eleven one slightly taller than the other. Accompanying them was there father and mother both middle-aged, the smaller boy was happily walking beside their father until the taller one had decided that he was sick of walking beside his mother and sick of looking at the back of the smaller ones head, so he jogged up so that he was between his father and his smaller brother and shouldered his brother and sent him stumbling backwards into a large bearded man who looked him up and down then walked over to a boy who had black hair and glasses. About a minute later they stepped through a door into a tavern called the Leaky Cauldron which they began to make our way through. They went through the back door of the tavern and came to a brick wall, their father then pulled a scepter from his over coat and give the wall a few careful knocks as it began to slowly disappear.

"Now..Be back here by five." Michael's father demanded before sending his children upon their way. Michael in his hands had been slipped a piece of dull parchment by his mother upon which was written a list of items he was to purchase before his arrival at platform 9 3/4. Scanning his eyes over the note Michael mumbled, "Uniform.." Might as well get the boring items out of the way first, he thought. Having little-to-no regard for his brothers whereabouts behind him Michael carried himself through the alley passing busy crowds of daily shoppers before he stood before a large, stone brick building which read above its door "Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions"
